Victor Osimhen transfer rumors intensify as Napoli stand firm

Victor Osimhen

Napoli’s star striker Victor Osimhen has again become the center of intense transfer speculation. According to recent reports, the 26‑year‑old Nigerian – fresh off a prolific loan season at Galatasaray – has rebuffed a staggering Saudi offer as he weighs his options in Europe. Sources say Al-Hilal, under new coach Simone Inzaghi, initially proposed about €160 million over four years, which Osimhen turned down, preferring to keep his future in Europe.
Al-Hilal refused to give up and has now dramatically increased its pitch. Turkish insiders report the Saudi club has offered Osimhen an €50 million per season salary in a bid to finally convince him. This “astronomical” wage package would be by far the richest of Osimhen’s career. Reports confirm the Qatari‑backed club is determined to lure him, aware that he previously rejected a €30m‑per‑year deal.
Despite the eye‑watering numbers, Osimhen’s camp remains cautious – much depends on finding top‑level football. Indeed, Osimhen seems intent on staying in Europe. Italian media report that his priority is competing at the highest level, which has fueled interest from elite clubs. Premier League sides like Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea have been linked, though none have actively met Napoli’s demands so far.
In Turkey, Galatasaray – where Osimhen thrived with 37 goals last season – are “optimistic” about signing him permanently. The Turkish champions can offer Champions League football plus a reported €15–20m annual salary, but they must also find a way to trigger Napoli’s hefty clause.
Napoli’s position is clear: the €75 million release clause stands. Club president Aurelio De Laurentiis has made it known that he will not accept any bargain on Osimhen. One Italian outlet notes “la clausola è di 75 milioni e sconti non se ne fanno” – Napoli simply refuse to negotiate below that price. In fact, they are even open to raising the fee for a domestic buyer (Juventus reportedly offered €85m, but that was blocked by Italian league rules).
Negotiations have brought Al-Hilal’s bid to about €70m plus bonuses, still €5m short of Napoli’s demand. Until the parties bridge that gap, no transfer can happen. For now, Napoli are largely “spectators” in this saga, waiting on Osimhen’s call.
The club has already prepared for either outcome: reports suggest Napoli have scouted alternative attacking signings in case their talisman leaves. Crucially, selling Osimhen would inject massive funds into Napoli’s transfer market – a breakthrough move that club management acknowledges would accelerate other business. But until Osimhen explicitly chooses a destination, the Italian champions remain patient.
As one insider put it, “tutte le offerte ci sono ma dipende tutto da lui” – all offers are on the table, but the decision rests solely with the player.
In summary, the Victor Osimhen transfer saga entered a new phase this week: Al-Hilal’s offer got even bigger, but Napoli insist on their full €75m valuation and the Nigerian star keeps his sights on European football. Fans should expect more twists in the coming days as the transfer window advances and Osimhen finalizes his next step.
